چکیده
The impact of environmental and meteorological conditions when dealing with sport performance has been demonstrated by several studies carried out in recent years. Among the variables greatest effect are temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind direction speed. This research focused on analyzing forecasting patterns occurring Enoshima Bay (Japan). In particular, objective this study was to provide support guidance sailors preparation race strategy, thanks an in-depth knowledge these variables. To do this, innovative method used. First, through combined use Weather Research Forecasting (WRF) CALMET models, a simulation performed, order reconstruct offshore database 10-year period (2009–2018) over area, inside bay. Subsequently, verification hind-cast performed: data measured at sea were compared extracted from verify validity model. performed three statistical indexes: BIAS, MAE, PCC. analysis showed mixed results, depending examined pattern, but made it possible identify days that best simulated reality. Then, selected summarized collected plots, tables, maps design decision service (DSS), athletes necessary information simple effective way. conclusion, we state application extends beyond sports field. Indeed, may be actions contrast adapt climate change, particularly coastal areas.

Analysis and simulation of dynamic performance for DFIG-based wind farm connected to a distrubition system
Local renewable resources such as wind and solar are often available in remote locations. Wind farms consist of many individual wind turbines which are connected to the electric power transmission network. A wind farm can use the wind resources from a certain area efficiently. Double-fed induction generator (DFIG) is a generating principle widely used in wind turbine (WT). DFIG are ab...
متن کاملUsing EOF Analysis to Identify Important Surface Wind Patterns
Empirical orthogonal functions (EOFs) have been determined for three wind data sets from stations in valleys south of the Great Salt Lake in Utah. Two of the data sets were for summer months, with individual days selected from the MesoWest archive to represent conditions conducive to welldeveloped thermally driven flows. The remaining data set was for the month of October 2000 and was derived f...
متن کاملEvidence That Marine Reserves Enhance Resilience to Climatic Impacts
Establishment of marine protected areas, including fully protected marine reserves, is one of the few management tools available for local communities to combat the deleterious effect of large scale environmental impacts, including global climate change, on ocean ecosystems. Despite the common hope that reserves play this role, empirical evidence of the effectiveness of local protection against...
متن کاملCombined Use of Sensitivity Analysis and Hybrid Wavelet-PSO- ANFIS to Improve Dynamic Performance of DFIG-Based Wind Generation
In the past few decades, increasing growth of wind power plants causes different problems for the power quality in the grid. Normal and transient impacts of these units on the power grid clearly indicate the need to improve the quality of the electricity generated by them in the design of such systems. Improving the efficiency of the large-scale wind system is dependent on the control parameter...
